BUMINAL is a bait to attract the mediterranean fruit and olive fly

You can use our product in two different ways:

​

BUMINAL mixed with pesticides, used either in traps or sprayed on fields

The function of BUMINAL is to attract the fruit fly, the added pesticide will kill the fly.

Mixed with a pesticide of your choice BUMINAL can be used in traps as well as directly on fields. Due to its capacity to boost the craving for food it ensures that the fruit or olive fly will get in direct contact with the poison and dies even before it will damage your crop.

BUMINAL applied without pesticides in traps

Especially for organic growers it is necessary to use traps without pesticides. Traps with BUMINAL attract the fruit flies more effectively and are therefor also very useful for your household.

APPLICATION

BUMINAL can be applied in traps or directly on your field.

BUMINAL used in traps

open traps will be filled with BUMINAL and a pesticide, the Medfly will be attracted by the bait, licks the mixture of lure and pesticide and dies outside the trap

closed traps will be filled with BUMINAL, the fruit fly will be attracted by the bait, flies inside the trap and will drown inside the trap.

BUMINAL in spraying method

As the scent of BUMINAL has a very wide range, it is only necessary to spray every third row of the field with a mixture of BUMINAL and the chosen pesticide.

HISTORY

During the late 1960‘s scientists in Germany developed a bait based on hydrolysed protein to attract the mediterranean fruit fly (Ceratitis capitata) and olive fruit fly ((Batrocera oleae).

Sold worldwide under the trading name BUMINAL, it soon became the most efficient bait and attractant for medflies and olive flies.

​

Its harmless effects on the environment allows to use BUMINAL also in the organic fruit-growing.

​

Meanwhile BUMINAL is a synonym for protein baits and lures in the combat against the Mediterranean fruit fly.
